We are running a competition for all you scientists in the laboratories. The winner will get two entry tickets to the Society of Toxicology Annual Meeting & ToxExpo 2025, being held in Orlando, Florida next year in March.

How to enter?

Entry requirements are simple, just follow the 4 steps outlined below:

  1. Write a comment on LinkedIn, or submit it on this page, describing an item in the laboratory that you couldn’t live without in 20 words or less
  2. Follow CN Bio on LinkedIn and tag CN Bio in the comment
  3. Add the hashtag #MyLabEssential
  4. Add a photograph of the item (optional!)

Rules

LinkedIn comments must be:

  • In English only
  • Posted before the 1st of July 2024 (comments received after this date will be void and will not be considered)
  • No longer than 20 words in total
  • Submitted via LinkedIn comments or via the CN Bio website

Scoring

All entries will be reviewed and scored on the following criteria:

  • relevance of the item to laboratory work;
  • novelty or uniqueness; and
  • clarity of the written comment.

The Winner

The winner will be notified via email.

The winner must be able and willing to:

  • attend SOT & ToxExpo 2025, in Florida, from March 16-20th.
  • cover the cost of their transport and accommodation (or otherwise forfeit the prize.)
  • participate in interviews with CN Bio or its designated media partners for promotional purposes

The winning entry will be chosen by a panel of judges based on their assessment of the most unique and interesting comment. The names of the judges are available on request.

Terms and Conditions

1. No purchase is necessary and entry is free.

2. The competition is not open to CN Bio employees and their immediate families, or anyone professionally connected with the prize offered in this competition. CN Bio reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all entrants.

3. It is the entrant’s sole responsibility to ensure that its details and email address are accurate and that CN Bio is informed of any changes to these. CN Bio accepts no responsibility for any changes which are not properly notified from the time of submission of the entry to the time that the winner is announced.

4. Everyone who submits a comment that meets the specified criteria will be entered into the competition, and the winning entry will be decided by CN Bio’s appointed judge(s) (see above). The judges’ decision is final. The surname and country of the winner can be obtained by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to CN Bio at 332 Cambridge Science Park Milton Rd, Milton, Cambridge CB4 0WN. UK. If an entrant does not want their surname and country made available it must email the promoter prior to the closing date at marketing@cn-bio.com.

5. The prize for the winning entry is set out above. The prize is non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives. CN Bio reserves the right to substitute an alternative prize of equal or greater value. Entrants must be eligible to receive the prize under applicable local laws and regulations and CN Bio is not liable for any tax or other duties that might be incurred. These are the responsibility of the winner.

6. The promoter’s full name and business address is: CN Bio 332 Cambridge Science Park Milton Rd, Milton, Cambridge CB4 0WN. UK.

7. The closing date is 1st July 2024, and the winner will be notified via email by 1st August 2024. The prize will be sent via post, email, or courier to the address specified by the winner once contacted by CN Bio.

8. By entering the competition, entrants agree to be bound by the above terms and conditions. No correspondence will be entered into.

9. By entering the competition, entrants note that their personal information will be used to process their entry and to contact them about their entry. The entrant gives permission for CN Bio or CN Bio nominated personnel to contact them for further discussion/clarification of entry details, to produce scientific or promotional communications and to share marketing materials with them.

10. All entrants agree that their entry and/or details of their application submitted via LinkedIn comment or comments on the website may be published on the CN Bio’s social media properties and website. No personal data will be published or shared with third parties.

11. Please see CN Bio’s privacy policy for more details regarding how the promoter will use the entrant’s personal information.

12. Entrants acknowledge that copyright in submissions will be owned by the promoter. Entrants agree to assign to the promoter all intellectual property rights in the submission with full title guarantee and to waive their moral rights in the submission.

Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. This means that you can choose whether to bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales or in the courts of another part of the UK in which you live.

The Prize

The winner will get two entry tickets to the Society of Toxicology Annual Meeting & ToxExpo 2025, held in Orlando, Florida in March 2025 . The tickets will be delivered via email, or by post or courier to the laboratory address specified by the winner.

Who Can Enter?

To be eligible to enter the competition, you must currently be working in a Life Science research or development laboratory in Europe or North America.

To enter the competition, you must be employed by the laboratory at the time of posting the comment on LinkedIn and be authorized to enter the competition and accept the prize.
