PhysioMimix® Human 3D Cell Culture wins Lab Innovation 2018 Award

November 22, 2018

The PhysioMimix® benchtop 3D cell culture system from CN Bio has won the Innovation Award at the UK’s largest laboratory event, held at the NEC Birmingham in November.

PhysioMimix® allows researchers to set up assays and generate results quickly. Scientists and technicians can culture micro-tissues that mimic the structure and function of human organs and run a wide range of assays and experiments.

CN Bio Commercial Director Paul Davies said: “It was great to see how hands-on and enthusiastic scientists were with PhysioMimix at the meeting. Since the system is very portable, we’re enjoying demonstrating how easy it is to set up and run.”

“But most importantly we’ve had some great discussions about how the human-organ-on-chip assays on PhysioMimix® can support human-centred data and insights and help people meet a whole range of their research goals. In particular, Organ-on-Chip studies can help scientists to zero in on drug targets, toxicity mechanisms and drug-drug interactions, gaining critical data early in the assessment of new therapies.”

“Lab Innovations hosts hundreds of products launches every year,” said Alison Willis, Divisional Director at Easyfairs which manages Lab Innovations 2018. “We are delighted that this year’s Innovation Award went to CN Bio, celebrating a truly disruptive product, the PhysioMimix® Organs-on-Chips System, and we look forward to seeing future developments from this pioneering startup.”
