Reports to: Principal Engineer
The New Product Introduction Engineer will perform a critical role in the successful transfer of designs from the development to production. Working as part of a small, dynamic Product Development team, you will help to develop and support the manufacture CN Bio’s best in class Organ-on-a-Chip technology. A major focus of this role is ensuring that manufacturing teams have access to complete, accurate, and robust documentation that enables consistent product quality, effective training, and smooth transfer of new products into production.
In this role, you will contribute to commercial growth and product improvement by:
- Supporting the manufacture of CN Bio’s hardware systems by ensuring the delivery of complete, robust manufacturing documentation.
- Collaborating with the Production team to train operators in the inspection, assembly, and testing of new products.
- Supporting transfer to manufacture and product build activities and service
- Building effective working relationships across Product Development, Production, and other business functions
- Follow company high standards and H&S policies and contribute to safe working practices in laboratories and workshops.
- Plus other relevant duties in line with business needs
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 2 years’ experience in an industrial setting
or professional experience to an equivalent level - Strong mechanical engineering background, with practical experience of new product integration processes.
- Proficient in SolidWorks CAD software, including creation, checking, and updating of part models, assemblies, and production drawings.
- Ability to interpret existing products, legacy CAD, supplier drawings, and physical hardware to reconstruct accurate manufacturing documentation.
- Strong foundations in geometrical design and tolerancing (GD&T), design for manufacture (DfM), and design for assembly (DfA).
- Close attention to detail and a quality-focused approach to technical documentation.
- Self-directed and organised, with the ability to prioritise a defined documentation backlog and deliver reviewed outputs against agreed milestones.
- Great communication and teamwork skills
Desirable
- Solidworks Professional or Expert certification
- Experience of Product data management systems
- Knowledge of wiring looms and electrical drawings
